It looks like the so-ugly-they're-cute boots known as Uggs aren't going anywhere anytime soon -- the reports for Black Friday have been released, and it looks like they were the most-searched-for item this Black Friday!

According to the UPI Blog, the sheepskin-and-fleece boots were the most Googled item this past Black Friday. They even beat out The North Face jackets and Nike Air Jordan retro sneakers. And even though they've fallen out of favor with the fashionistas, experts say that people continue to buy them because of comfort, rather than style. "They're like Vans or Crocs or Wellington boots," Barney's creative ambassador Simon Doonan said back in February. "They're a classic shoe, every chick has a pair of Uggs, and if she says she doesn't, she's lying, because they're very comfortable and they're very warm."

And according to E! News, the Uggs didn't just beat out its competition in the fashion category -- it beat out its competition in all categories. That means that everything from the big ticket items (such as TV's, iPads, and game consoles) to the smallest trinkets were no match for the boots. E! points out that even though they're not as trendy as they once were, celebrities such as Kelly Ripa, Britney Spears, and even young Suri Cruise and Jackson Theron (son of Charlize Theron) love their Uggs.

Prior to them becoming trendy, Uggs were mostly worn in Australia (which does have very cold winters) as house slippers. In the early 2000's, celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kate Hudson turned the house slipper into the must-have fashion accessory of the winter season. As with all "trends," however, the Ugg fell out of favor shortly thereafter.
