Super Bowl Committee CEO Al Kelly said on Monday that there will be no tailgating allowed at the upcoming Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

"You will be allowed to have food in your car and have drink in your car," Kelly said during the news conference about transportation and safety at the big game. "And provided you're in the boundaries of a single parking space, you'll be able to eat or drink right next to your car. However, you're not going to be able to take out a lounge chair, you're not going to be able to take out a grill, and you're not going to be able to take up more than one parking space. And it'll all be watched very carefully."

Getting into the stadium will be an obstacle for anyone who does not plan to have a parking spot secured or if they plan to be dropped off. To make things even more difficult, the only people to get into the stadium will have to come to the game inside a vehicle or via a train, but not by foot.

"You cannot walk to the Super Bowl," Kelly also said in the conference. "You can get your hotel to drop you off at one of the New Jersey Transit locations or get the shuttle to take you to a Fan Express location, but you cannot walk."

This year's Super Bowl has been hyped up like never before because of the unusual nature of having the big game in a cold-weather stadium in a massive media market. Considering that it will be the middle of winter in the northeast, the weather could range anywhere from unusually warm to an all-out blizzard. Regardless, it is expected to be one exciting game to watch and it is now just weeks away.
