At the Star Wars celebration, Disney and Lucasfilms revealed the new trailer for "Star Wars Episode VI: The Force Awakens" and a character list was revealed.

The trailer to the film has a voiceover that talks about the force and is narrated by Luke Skywalker. It also shows the mask of Darth Vadar as well as destroyed Imperial ships, and it seems this film will connect to "Return of the Jedi." Additionally, there is footage of R2-D2 and a mysterious hand that seems to be Luke's. Han Solo and Chewbacca are revealed at the end of the trailer and the shot resembles one from the old trilogy.

Additionally, there are a number of action sequences that include new characters and what looks to be a new Sith lord. The storm troopers are back and there are numerous shots of the Millennium Falcon. John Williams' rousing score is also played in the background, making the trailer nostalgic of the old trilogy.

Along with the trailer, Collider has revealed a list of characters that are likely to make an appearance in the upcoming installment. The obvious characters that have already been announced include Han Solo, reprised by Harrison Ford, Queen Leia played by Carrie Fisher, and Luke Skywalker played by Mark Hamill.

John Boyega will play the character of Finn while Daisy Ridley will play Rey. Meanwhile, Oscar Isaac will play Poe Dameron and there will be a droid named BB-8.

Chewbacca will be back as well as the beloved droids R2-D2, C-3PO and Andy Serkis will play the new character of Uber. Domhnall Gleeson is rumored to play The General. Other characters that made the list include Kylo Ren, a rumored Sith lord, Rose, and the Vicar.

It has still been undisclosed what characters Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, Warwick Davis, Adam Driver or Max Von Sydow will play in the film.

The film was directed by J.J Abrams, who is best known for "Star Trek" and "Super 8." Abrams wrote the script with Lawrence Kasdan, who penned "Star Wars Episode V: Empire Strikes Back" and "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi."

"The Force Awakens" will be the first of a three-part installment which will continue the saga that was first started back in 1977 by George Lucas. Disney has already announced that Episode VIII will be directed by Rian Johnson and will be released in May of 2017. There will also be a spinoff entitled "Rogue One" starring Felicity Jones, which is scheduled for 2016.
