Liam Neeson has dominated action movies since he starred in "Taken" in 2008. Having cemented his reputation as a bankable action star, he has joined the ranks of Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone.

It has been recently confirmed that Neeson will once again be part of a new action movie -- "A Willing Patriot" from MadRiver Pictures -- where the actor will reportedly stop a planned terrorist attack.

Marc Brutan of MadRiver Pictures already announced that Neeson is presently in final negotiations for the film's lead role. He also disclosed that Martin Zandvliet of "A Funny Man" will be directing the film.

"Liam Neeson is one of the defining actors of our generation," said Brutan. "Audiences will love him in this role. After seeing Martin's new film, 'Land of Mine,' we know he was an incredible storyteller and the perfect match to collaborate with Liam."

According to Screen Rant, his role is going to be a CIA agent who will chase after terrorists intending to wreak havoc in the United States. To save the country, he will have to risk a lot of things - including his own life.

The producers will be Darin Friedman and Guymon Casady of Film 360, Gianni Nunnari of Hollywood Gang and Jason Keller who was also behind the script. Shannon Gaulding will be overseeing the project for Hollywood Gang.

Considering that this is not Neeson's first time to be involved in a film where the lead actor puts his life at stake to save the nation, he will surely do the role justice especially with his signature grimace and growl.

Even though Neeson is recognized as one of the most in-demand action stars of today, he has proven his versatility with his role as a priest in Martin Scorsese's "Silence" and voice work for "The Lego Movie." Plus, he guest-starred recently in the 250th episode of "Family Guy," titled "Fighting Irish."

"We learn that anytime Peter gets a few beers in him, he goes on a drunken rant about how he can beat up Liam Neeson," said executive producer Steve Callaghan told Entertainment Weekly. "Quagmire and Joe and Cleveland have reached their limit after hearing this same drunken rant one too many times. So, they realize it's time to call Peter's bluff."
