Season 3 of the Lifetime series "Devious Maids" will return on June 1, and fans will bear witness to reshuffling of the cast, with former regulars leaving or moved to the rear, while some interesting new additions are maneuvered to the forefront. Also, fans can look forward to the aftermath of the shooting.

The detailed list of cast changes has been well-documented, but what hasn't been made clear is what that rearrangement of the cast will mean for the dark comedy-drama, which dabbles in mystery and intrigue. Fans of Edy Ganem (Remi) and Drew Van Acker (Valentina) will be saddened to know that their characters will be downgraded from series regulars to guest stars, as the series focuses its attention on new plots.

At the conclusion of Season 2, Valentina was accepted to a fashion internship in New York City. But, Remi chose not to follow his amour, choosing instead to stay with his mother and care for her throughout her illness. At the same time, Ty McKay (Gideon Glick) decides that he wants to carry out his plot to kill Valentina, so he targets her with Spence's (Grant Show) gun.

In the final moments of Season 2's finale, Valentina was staring down the barrel of a gun at Rosie (Dania Ramirez) and Spence's wedding, hopefully without consequence. Ty fires several shots and Rosie drops her blood-covered bouquet, but fans remain unaware of who has been shot.

Roanoke.com indicated that the young couple, Remi and Valentina, "will be very affected by the gunning incident." Also, Prime Time UK stated that the couple would "struggle to connect in the aftermath of the shooting," also suggesting that either or both of the star-crossed lovers could've been struck with a bullet during the ordeal.

Several sites have pointed out Remi and Valentina's notable absence from the third season's promo trailer, which boosted images that reminded fans of the shows focus: murder, sex, secrets, lies and deviousness. Also, former "Glee" star Naya Rivera appeared in the trailer, as she'll appear as a newcomer and an optimistic maid until her world is rattled by the dirty laundry that's normally kept hidden in the homes Beverly Hills' wealthiest and most powerful families.
