Keanu Reeves may have made the word 'woah' famous in The Matrix, but he only uttered it once. Fans watching season 6 of FX's hit show Sons of Anarchy probably wore out their vocal cords repeating 'woah' over and over again. Gangsters got blasted away, a school came under fire, a prisoner was raped and one mom was very angry. This program was never as kid friendly as Hannah Montana, but 'SOA' season 6 definitely took on a darker tone then preceding seasons. Even Miley would be shocked.

The shock-and-awe began with "Straw" and continued straight through to "A Mother's Work," the last episode of the year. It's in this episode that Jax Teller, President of SAMCRO, finds his wife Tara Knowles-Teller six feet under. Tara was bludgeoned with an iron, repeatedly stabbed in the back of the neck and drowned in a kitchen sink. Worst of all, Tara was killed by her mother in law. This may not be news to you, but it turns out Jax's mother Gemma no is diamond in the rough; she's just rotten to the core.

There are any number of directions series creator Kurt Sutter could take the show. Jax could be arrested and charged with his wife's murder, but he can't be found guilty can he? That would effectively end season early on unless a murder trial encompasses the entire last season. But Sons of Anarchy is no Law & Order. Dragging this mess out in court is bound to be boring. Jax should be found not responsible for his wife's death by San Joaquin County District Attorney Tyne Patterson and by Charming, California's police force. The Examiner writes that Jax should be given a new love interest that can go toe to toe with his mother Gemma.

Sons of Anarchy will return in the fall of 2014. FX is likely to announce when the first episode will premiere closer to the spring or summer. Could it be that all the secrecy behind the release date has to do with hype? Season 6 had massive ratings so expect FX to milk the show for all it's worth. The last season hasn't even been written at this point in time, but SAMCRO's last dance will be big.
