Justin Bieber is being recruited by producers from "The Voice" to appear as a coach in Season 9.

HollywoodLife reports show creators have targeted the 21-year-old and hope to have him join mainstays Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. In recent years, heavyweight artists, such as Christina Aguilera, Shakira, Usher and Pharrell Williams, have all also appeared as coaches.

The website adds while the last season was acclaimed for some of the performances turned in by the contestants, the ratings were sort of a dud, which is where show executives hope Bieber will be able to help out.

"This last season of 'The Voice' had its finale be the least rated ever and Mark Burnett has taken notice," a source told HollywoodLife. "He wants to mix it up to get ratings up and get younger viewers to watch the show." The first thing the producers plan to do is change up the judging lineup."

Bieber would be the youngest coach to ever appear on the show, with last season's panel – Shelton, 38, Levine, 36, Aguilera, 34, and Williams, 38 – at least 13 years older than him.

These days it seems good to be Bieber, who is also rumored to have recently reunited with on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez. The two were recently seen together in a video that was posted live on May 27.

Days earlier, HollywoodLife adds the two were seen together back stage at a Hillsong Church held event.

Since their last split, Bieber has been romantically linked to Hailey Baldwin, Kendall Jenner, Ashley Moore and Shanina Shaik. More recently, he was rumored to be dating 19-year-old British model Jayde Pierce and the two were reported to have gotten so serious she took him home to meet her parents.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Gomez only recently broke up with DJ Zedd.
