"Jurassic World" continues to dominate cinemas with international box office results of more than $500 million so far, according to Box Office Mojo.

This success over the movie's opening weekend was a bit surprising, considering that it only managed to get lukewarm reviews.

"This over-performed in a way that I have never seen," Rentrak's Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian told the Associated Press. "It broke the box office sound barrier," he added.

Variety pointed out that the sequel's 48 percent haul on opening weekend were from its 3D screenings, majority of which were catered by IMAX cinemas and private Premium Large Format (PLF) screens.

Chris Pratt, who plays the lead role in the film (apart from the humongous hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex), spoke with Entertainment Weekly recently about his experience working with Steven Spielberg.

"Working with him and having him be a peer now is pretty remarkable," Pratt shared. "He is a guy who is an icon. I was never a film buff as a kid, but I knew who Steven Spielberg was. He was the first real celebrity director -- like the director you would go see his movie because it was his movie."

When he was asked if he was going to be part of any other "Jurassic Park" sequels, his response was, "I am." He even injected a bit of humor into his statement, "They have me for, I think, 38 movies or something."

Apparently, "Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow was the one who pitched "the whole idea" about the fourth "Jurassic Park" movie while he was still filming for "Guardians of the Galaxy." The proposal was even done through Skype. Trevorrow had reportedly wanted him for the role since the character was "like a combat veteran -- like a spec ops guy" with "a little goofiness."

“I hung up the Skype call and immediately forgot about it because I was in the middle of trying to navigate this movie that everyone thought was going to be terrible,” he added. “I was tanking my career on this f*cking weird space movie with a raccoon with a gun. I got this call from my manager saying, ‘Colin wants to meet with you.’ And I met him down at this restaurant. I was, like, ‘Let us do it.’”
