It seems that Japanese electronics firm, Sony, is hard at work to reinvigorate the market interest in its brand. Reports have come up that the company is now looking at a new Android software to replace its current UI and reboot the company's mobile business.

The news came about when it was discovered that the company is looking for beta testers for the software. Swedish online outlet, Swedroid, wrote a report that Sony is on the look out for owners of the Xperia Z3 unit who can be part of the testing program.

Sony Mobile in Sweden is the business arm of the company that does beta testing of software changes, explained Phone Arena. So it's not entirely a surprise that such a program exists there.

The division of Sony in the European country has come out with a search for beta testers with the idea to have an "opportunity to try a new concept Android software build for the Xperia Z3."

While it's not the first time that testing for software has been done in Sony Mobile Sweden, most of the test programs were done for new and upcoming flagship devices, not currently released ones such as the Xperia Z3.

According to the Xperia Blog, the new software intends to give a "fresh take on the Sony user experience." However, no actual details have been released on what the software is all about and what new features and changes are expected to come with it.

The beta testing program is open to Xperia Z3 owners in Sweden. However, it does not include the Xperia Z3 Compact units, reported Android Central. The program will commence on July 27 and end on September 13.

Users will be able to test the software fully and give Sony feedback on their experience.

For those who will join the beta testing, Sony Mobile Sweden has assured that they will be able to revert their software to the current one before they decided to enter the program. However, it is important that the owner backs up his files before switching to the beta software just to be sure everything has been saved.

Many speculate that the new Android software will be part of the upcoming flagship unit from Sony, the Z5, because of its timing. Sony has yet to comment on this rumor.

On the other hand, some think that the new software will be made available to all released smartphones to upgrade its owner's user experience.
