Competitive Pokemon fans in the United States may soon have something exciting to look forward to. Reports have come out that the popular arcade competition, "Pokken Tournament," is arriving to a known restaurant entertainment chain in the North American shores.

The announcement was made in a Reddit AMA session with the Senior Vice President of Entertainment & Game Strategy for Dave & Buster's, Kevin Bachus. According to him, the restaurant chain will try and test out the arcade game in some of their branches.

"Yes. We will be testing 'Pokken,'" said the restaurant chief. "Candidly, both NAMCO and I are more optimistic about that title and our typical guests than Tekken."

Dave & Buster's is a known arcade and entertainment center that caters to adults.

The company will test out the game in select branches and Bachus promised that, "if it does well in test we'd bring it everywhere."

The Dave & Buster's chief did not mention which branches and sites of the popular restaurant entertainment chain will carry the tests for the game.

The popular Pokemon-based tournament is highly anticipated in the U.S. Bandai Namco and Nintendo have kept the video game competition exclusively in Japan in the past year. This has left many fans from the West clamoring for the version to be made available overseas.

Pokken Tournament is a fighting game that uses Pokemon, or Pocket Monster characters in a setting much like a "Tekken" match and made by the same developers.

Recently, the popular Weavile and Charizard have been added to the roster of Pokemons available in its games, noted IGN. The two complete a list of nine playable Pocket Monsters.

Dave & Buster's Bachus did not announce a timeframe for the testing project to commence and fans will just have to wait for further details when and where they can check out the popular arcade game.

Meanwhile, Bandai Namco has yet to announce if the game will arrive to the Nintendo Wii U. When it was announced in 2014, the developers only planned for an arcade version of the game, noted Prima Games.

However, with the seeming popularity of the game to Pokemon loyalists, it might not take a long time before both Bandai Namco and The Pokemon Company capitalize on the fans and create a console game out of it.

But based from the company's track record with "Tekken," another popular arcade game, Bandai Namco usually unveils a title in the arcade followed by a console version.

But until then, U.S. fans of the game can wait until Dave & Buster's start the test and they can finally get heir hands on the video game.
