There will be several new faces in New Orleans as the Mikaelson siblings face off with their sires when "The Originals" returns to The CW this fall.

While speaking at the 2015 Comic-Con in San Diego last month, executive producer Michael Narducci revealed that the storyline in the new season will be focused on the Mikaelson's sire lines.

"We talked a lot about how the Mikaelsons have been around for 1,000 years and somewhere along the way, they probably turned a bunch of people into vampires," said Narducci, according to Entertainment Weekly. "Those vampires know that if an Original dies, as we saw with Finn and we saw with Kol, an entire sire line would be wiped off. What perspective do those sired vampires have - all of them, the remaining three sire lines - what do they think about the continued existence of the Mikaelson family? That's the seed for season 3."

So far, it has been revealed that Klaus' sire, Lucien, will be played by actor Andrew Lees from "H2O: Just Add Water." Lucien will make his first appearance in the season premiere.

Lucien is described as "intelligent, charming, wildly successful and at ease with princes and paupers alike. He prides himself on being two steps ahead of everyone else," reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Entertainment Weekly also reports that actor Lawrence Kao of "The Walking Dead" will play Van, "a handsome, stubborn witch who has always stayed out of coven politics. But when tragedy strikes, he finds himself inescapably drawn into the beginnings of a war." Kao's character will be introduced to viewers in episode 2 of Season 3.

Meanwhile, "Satisfaction" star Oliver Ackland has been cast as a handsome and mysterious vampire named Tristan. The charming vamp has a long and complicated history with the Originals. He was also "born into such wealth and power that he carries with him the cool assurance of his own superiority. With those he loves, he can be equal parts warm and caring, obsessive and co-dependent. But with his enemies, he is cruel and completely merciless. Ackland will recur starting in episode 2," reports EW.

Also joining the series is Rebecca Breeds, the actress from "Pretty Little Liars." Breeds will play a beautiful and enigmatic vampire named Aurora, who is described as "sexy, seductive, witty and free-spirited." However, in addition to being the life of the party, she can be "malevolent, dangerous and extremely violent." Fans will meet Aurora in the Season 3 premiere as well.
