George Zimmerman has teamed up with a Florida gun shop owner to sell prints of his Confederate battle flag painting at the owner's self-proclaimed "Muslim-free" gun store.

In a YouTube video, Zimmerman said that he decided to sell his Confederate battle flag art at the Florida Gun Supply after he learned that the owner, Andy Hallinan, was being sued for religious discrimination by a pro-Muslim rights group.

"George started painting an American Flag on this canvas, but heard about Andy getting sued by CAIR (the Counsel for American/Islamic Relations) while he was working on the painting," stated the gun supply store's website. "George decided to scrap the original American Flag painting and repaint it with a Confederate (Battle) Flag."

In addition to raising money for the shop's legal defense, the proceeds from Zimmerman's art will also go towards his own legal funds and the Boys and Girls Club.

Prints of Zimmerman's painting of the controversial flag, which are being sold online for $50, also features his signature and the words "The 2nd / protects / our / 1st."

"The caption, 'the 2nd protects the first' is a double entendre," Zimmerman said in a statement. "The first flag I painted on this canvas was an American Flag, but decided to repaint over it with the Confederate Flag when I heard Andy was getting sued by CAIR. The 2nd flag I painted was the Battle Flag -- which we need in America in order to protect the first."

The site also posted a 10-minute "mini-documentary" of Zimmerman and Hallinan discussing "media bias" against their political agendas and their mission to protect America.

Zimmerman is notorious for killing Trayvon Martin, an unarmed African-American teenager, in November 2012. He was then acquitted in 2013.

Since his high-profile trial and acquittal, Zimmerman has had several other run ins with the law in Florida.
