The hype for the upcoming season of FX anthology series "American Horror Story" has gained some new momentum with the new "Hotel" teasers released for season 5. According to Entertainment Weekly, the season is expected to take on new feats of terror, as evidenced in the short videos.

What has been apparent from the very start is that this season will take the show to new levels of horror. Each season before has been a reboot, with most of the same actors returning, just playing different roles in different settings.

Season 1 featured the Murder House, which had many ghosts and evil entities in it when a couple and their teenage daughter move in. The season turned morbid and sad real quick.

Season 2 featured most of the same actors and took place in an Asylum. It ventured into grittier themes with disturbing sequences and terrifying situations.

Season 3 went to New Orleans and exposed the Coven of witches, who were descended from the Salem witches.

Season 4 took fans into the classic American Freak Show, which had its own eccentricities to it.

But now that season 5 is on the horizon, the show will take the horror and suspense to all new levels with the addition of pop star Lady Gaga to the cast. The "Fame Monster" herself requested a role on the show, and creator Ryan Murphy was happy to oblige the young singer.

In the new trailer, the series shows fans that it will still have the inherent terror and disturbing themes, but it will just be bloodier and feature a more grotesque season of horror.

Also starring in season 5 will be Matt Bomer, Kathy Bates and Sarah Paulson.

Paulson recently earned an Emmy nomination for her role in the show last season, which is not her first nomination on the series. Her character will reportedly be killed this year, which is a first for any of her characters in the series anthology.
