Sony recently announced that their latest software beta will start seeding to registered beta program subscribers as early as Sept. 1.

Sony's Vice President of Platforms Marketing John Koller indicated on PlayStation's official blogsite that PS4 system software 3.00 aka "Kenshin" will carry a bevy of new features and contents.

Increased online storage, YouTube Live, Twitter video sharing and the introduction of stickers are the main takeaways from the upcoming PS4 update.

PS Plus members on the PS4 will be glad to know that "Kenshin" will be bulking up their online storage from 1 GB to 10 GB. They can also keep track of their online memory space through a new usage meter.

Although the added storage can only be enjoyed by PS Plus members, every PS4 gamer will be able to live stream their gameplay on YouTube via the aptly named feature "YouTube Live," Live gaming streams will not only be viewed exclusively on the website, but also on the new "YouTube Gaming" app on mobile devices. "Live from PlayStation" has also been tweaked to give users a simpler yet more effective interface in viewing popular gameplay streams in real-time.

PS4 gamers, who want to record their key gameplay moments and share it online, can now do so on Twitter. However, videos must not be longer than 10 seconds. No worries, though, the update will have a tool that can trim longer videos.

Team players on the PS4 will soon rejoice since "Kenshin" will let them send in-game stickers to team members while in multiplayer mode. This is a more convenient method of communication instead of having to type messages during game battles, which majority would agree is a pretty irksome task.

The update will also introduce "Favorite Groups" on the Friends app. This lets users spawn game sessions faster. The new system will be able to recognize frequently accessed playmates and rank them higher up the Friend's list.

PS4 users will be able to form communities based on the gamers' shared gaming interests or genre. This is advantageous for gamers looking to join a group for large-scale multiplayer raids but initially don't have enough number of friends to do so. Groups can discuss their strategies or share in-game screenshots on the "Communities" message board.

Lastly, PS4 users can literally expect more from the "Now Playing" screen. The screen will have more information on what games their friends are currently playing. The new screen also affords gamers easy navigation to the PS Store to purchase the games their friends are playing. This feature could not have come at a more perfect time since PS4's September games list consists of popular original titles and a string of next generation sports video games, as per a previous post from Latin Post.
