"The Voice" judge Cee-Lo Green announced he's leaving the show and that he's not coming back for good.

The "Forget You" singer made the big announcement during an Ellen Degeneres episode on Wednesday. He emphasized that he would surely miss being in the show along with his other co-judges such as Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton. However, he also added that quitting the talent reality show does not mean that he won't be seen in other television projects, CNN reported.

"I have a television show development deal with them as well and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year. But yeah, I'm going to miss 'The Voice' too," the singer said.

Just like Cee-Lo's other fans, Ellen thought that "The Voice" judge would only take a quick break from mentoring aspiring talents joining the show. But the singer who appeared alongside Lionel Richie confirmed that his bidding goodbye is final.

Cee-Lo and Lionel appeared together as Ellen's guests to promote their music tour called "All the Hits All Night Long" by May, EW wrote.

The singer is also reportedly finishing a new album despite several legal troubles he stumbled upon along the way in October. He was involved in a felony charge of allegedly offering a drug ecstasy to a woman who also accused "The Voice" mentor of assaulting her sexually. The drug issues are still pending while the rape charges were not pursued.

A Message To All His Fans

To clear up matters about his saying goodbye in the NBC hit show and at the same time update his fans, he left a message over his website:

"I'm officially announcing today that I won't be returning as a coach on The Voice cycle 7 in the Fall. There are numerous reasons that led to this decision, which has been amicably reached with NBC, but I'm excited to be developing several other ideas with the network and my association with NBC remains strong. The Voice has been an immensely enjoyable experience for me and I can only hope I have enriched the lives of our viewers, the contestants, and the many friends I made there. I will always be there in spirit. Meanwhile, NBC and I plan to continue our relationship with several new co-ventures including a new music show, while we also explore our ideas for me to create and host a new show of my own. I will not go quietly into the night... expect more great music and entertainment done in my own unique unmistakable and undeniable way. The Voice has given me all the altitude and incentive to do just that. Thanks for the memories and make way for many more!"
