"The Walking Dead" fans have been clamoring to catch up on Season 5, but Netflix and the "TWD" distributors have been notoriously slow to get them out on the streaming video buffet. But, fans are finally getting what they want, according to Refinery 29.

The website recently updated their list of releases for September, and "The Walking Dead" Season 5 has been listed for release this month. The season will be available on Sept. 27, which is well ahead of AMC's Oct. 11 Season 6 premiere.

For avid fans of the show, the highest rated show on television, that is big news. There is so much that happened in Season 5 of the show that fans will get to catch up with the events before they air on Season 6.

Last season really was a high-stakes and dramatic season, but of course most seasons of this show are like that. Although most of the main characters came out unscathed, not all were so lucky. This article will not spoil it for fans, but you should be aware there are some shocking moments in the season that may make you cringe. That includes the new setting, the results of Terminus, where the characters end up and there are also some returning characters from previous seasons.

Season 6 of the show is poised to be the biggest yet, with the people of Alexandria welcoming in the main characters and civilization being a just a stone's throw away. That being said, there have been reports the season will kick off with such big hordes of zombie attacks it will out do Season 5 in the first three episodes. But for those who have not seen Season 5 yet, you will want to tune in and stream it first.

Reportedly, Negan is quietly being shopped around for casting this season. For readers of the comic book series, they know all too well what that means for one of the main characters.
