Apparently, movie director Quentin Tarantino had someone else in mind to play the lead role of Vincent Vega in "Pulp Fiction." A leaked cast wish list for the 1994 film revealed Michael Madsen was Tarantino's first choice for Vega, and not John Travolta.

Copies of the cast list were leaked on Reddit by a user named PCchongor. In the list under the name Vincent, Madsen had three stars, meaning he was the First Choice. Beside his name was written, "Wrote part for Michael Possibilities if Michael can't do it." Travolta was listed next to Madsen with the comment, "strong, strong, strong second choice."

Among the other actors listed for the role of Vincent Vega include some of the notable Hollywood actors today namely Denzel Washington, Sean Penn, Andy Garcia, Gary Oldman, Alec Baldwin and Michael Keaton. Tim Roth was also chosen; however he ended up playing the role of Pumpkin.

"Black Mass" star Johnny Depp was also in contention for the role of Pumpkin, with Tim Roth as first choice. Uma Thurman, who won Oscar's Best Supporting Actress for her role as Mia Wallace, is not even on the casting list. Instead, Virginia Madsen, Michael Madsen's sister, was Tarantino's first choice, followed by Marisa Tomei. Patricia Arquette, Phoebe Cates, Bridget Fonda, Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Meg Tilly and Debra Winger were also in the running as Mia Wallace.

The leaked cast list also shows that Patricia Arquette was Tarantino's lead choice for Honey Bunny, a role which went to Amanda Plummer. A lot of the first choices from Quentin's cast wish list didn't turn out playing the role in the finished movie.

John Cusack was pegged to play Vincent's drug dealer, Lance. However, that role went to the director's second choice, who was Eric Stoltz. Patricia Arquette was also reflected to play Lance's wife Jody, but that went to her sister, Rosanna. However, Quentin got Christopher Walken to play Captain Koons, who he listed as his first choice for the character. Other admired actors listed by Tarantino include Roberto De Niro and Al Pacino, who didn't make it to the film.

According to The Guardian, "Pulp Fiction" was the highlight of Travolta's career. It catapulted him to stardom again after dancing and singing his way to success in "Saturday Night Fever." Despite the change in lead actor, the movie reportedly remains as Tarantino's biggest box office hit. The film gained so much popularity that it was nominated for seven Academy Awards.
