Emily Blunt has been rumored to headline "Captain Marvel." While Marvel executives have yet to comment on the speculations, the actress herself denied she's been offered the role. Interestingly, Blunt is not even aware of who the superhero character is.

Collider's Steve "Frosty" Weintraub asked Blunt at the Toronto International Film Festival if she's heard about the "Captain Marvel" rumors and if she's been offered to play the character. The actress says in the video below that no one has approached her for the role, not even "one phone call about Captain Marvel."

When asked if she knows the character, the actress laughs and says, "I don't know who she is."

"I'm sorry I don't know comic book characters. They're not my forte," she tells Steve.

Steve brings up Emily's previous statement about her possibly wanting to play the role of a superhero and asks if it's something that appeals to her, or something that she's looking to play in the future.

Emily explained that she's not against superhero roles, as long as the writing is good. The actress says the character "would just have to be a great part."

"It's not necessarily that I'm desperate to be in a Marvel movie or desperate to be a in a different movie. It's all dependent on the part for me," Blunt tells Steve during the interview.

The actress, who's been promoting her new film, "Sicario," at the Toronto International Film Festival, also denied the Captain Marvel rumors in a previous interview with Indiewire. During the interview, Emily shared her opinion on why she, including Charlize Theron and Rebecca Ferguson, has been attached to the role.

"I think it's because the list is very short, because we don't see women in these kind of roles. So I think as soon as you do a role like that, like Charlize did or I did, or Rebecca's done - there's like four of us or something," she said.

Blunt added Jennifer Lawrence and Angeline Jolie in the short list that's based on actresses' capability to do action stunts. Emily said during her interview with Indiewire that they were most probably considered for the Captain Marvel role because of their ability to wield a gun or do push-ups.

"So it's a list of like, four women who are going to be considered for those kind of roles. So I think that's why the rumors happen," she told Indiewire.
