Following the announcement of "Star Wars Episode VII", a lot of people have been speculating about who will play who in the next installment of the sci-fi epic. Most of the speculation revolved around the good guys. But now, according to a report on Variety, Adam Driver of "Girls" is being groomed to join the Dark Side of the Force.

The report indicates that the actor is on the verge of finalizing a deal to play a central villain in the upcoming film. Although Driver has not yet signed on the dotted line, and no details have been released regarding his character, sources claim he will play a role "in the vein" of Darth Vader.

Although Driver's involvement in "Star Wars Episode VII" has not yet been formally confirmed as of now, his "Girls" co-star Lena Dunham accidentally celebrated early and congratulated him for his latest role.

MTV News reports the actress tweeted, "We're VERY proud of Adam Driver re: Star Wars. He's about to rip a hole in da force. Is that a thing? I guess I should see those movies?"

It seemed someone tipped off Dunham that she just blurted out a huge "Star Wars" secret because a few minutes later, she hilariously tried to do some damage-control and posted, "I confirm nothing [because] I know nothing [because] I'm on a pane with my dad! I just like Adam more than almost anyone, and JJ Abrams a whole lot more too."

For now, the only character that is a hundred percent onboard in the new film is the loveable R2-D2, Cinemablend confirms.

"Star Wars Episode VII" is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2015. The film's production will start this spring at the Pinewood Studios in England. The film will be directed by JJ Abrams based on the script that he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan, the screenwriter of "Empire Strikes Back".
