According to study conducted by Netflix, TV viewers hardly ever get hooked on a pilot.

According to Variety, the on-demand platform looked at several TV shows and saw many of the viewers got hooked on later episodes of the series. One of the TV shows sampled was the prison dramedy "Orange Is the New Black." The Netflix-produced series has become the most-watched original series by the company and got fans hooked in its third episode.

The episode was when Crazy Eyes, played by recent Primetime Emmy winner Uzo Aduba, drops both poems and fluids in the course of her imagined romance with Piper, played by Taylor Schilling. The study is surprising given the popularity of the show and the amount of fans it has gained over the years.

It was even more surprising to see "Arrow" and "How I Met Your Mother" didn't really garner a following until Episode 8. Like "Orange Is the New Black," both of these shows went on to great success. "Arrow" is currently one of the most popular shows on Television, and "How I Met Your Mother" put Neil Patrick Harris back on the map.

"Breaking Bad" Season 1 also saw audiences get really hooked after Episode 2, the episode in which Jesse Pinkman dissolves a drug rival in a bathtub and the disintegrated remains crash down through the ceiling.

Currently, "Orange Is the New Black" continues to succeed on Netflix and recently was up for a number of Emmy awards. The show won Best Supporting Actress but was also up for Outstanding Guest Actor, Outstanding Casting in a drama and Outstanding Drama series. It has previously been nominated for four Golden Globes. However, it has never won.
