Minecraft will be coming to the Oculus Rift in the spring 2016.

The Verge reported the Windows 10 version of the game will be compatible with the Oculus Rift headset. It was announced today, Sept. 24, by Oculus Rift founder Palmer Luckey during the Oculus Connect 2015 show, and the update will be available in the spring of next year. No additional information was released by Microsoft and Oculus Rift.

Recently, Minecraft was announced for the Windows 10 during Minecon in July.

It is becoming a big year for Minecraft. Earlier this year, they announced Minecraft: Story Mode, co-created by acclaimed video game developer Telltale Games. It will be released in six different episodes.

According to reports, only the first episode will be available on the disc version. In the past, Telltale Games released all of its episode on one disc. If you buy the disc version, you will have to buy the rest of the episodes online.

It was also announced a movie of the game is in the works. Rob McElhenney, co-creator of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," will be directing the movie. It is scheduled to be released in 2017 at the earliest. Digital Spy reports "Night of the Museum" director Shawn Levy was attached to direct but left the project due to creative differences. The story will be live action.

According to reports, the virtual reality headset will be available to the public at some point next year and will cost around $500.

The Oculus Rift is technology on the rise, and many TV shows, such as "Sleepy Hollow," were made into a virtual reality experience. It became the first show ever to win an Emmy for Best User Experience and Visual Design.
