In the upcoming episode of “The Blacklist,” fans will be introduced to a seductive and terrifying blacklister called “the Djinn,” a woman who specializes in executing revenge fantasies for her clients.

A teaser for Episode 4 of Season 3, titled "The Djinn," shows Red (James Spader) describing the mysterious criminal. The typically nonchalant Red resorts to checking off a partial list of the seven deadly sins in order to describe the Djinn, saying, “Greed, lust, revenge. They say she can make any fantasy come true.”

The clip goes on to reveal Liz (Megan Boone) consorting with the master criminal, looking as if she is about to strike a bargain. Speaking to Liz, the Djinn says, “I’m interested in what you deeply desire.” To which Liz responds, “I want the people who did this to pay for what they’ve done.”

Liz and Red seek out the Djinn because they believe she can lead them to the Cabal, a dangerous and necessary next step the pair must take in order to exonerate Liz.

With just two full seasons behind them, the characters in NBC’s “The Blacklist” seem as mythic as anything out of “The Dark Knight” or “Dick Tracy," allowing the series to easily translate into the comic book medium.

In July, Titan Comics launched “The Blacklist” as a comic book series. As Entertainment Weekly reports, David Leach, the editor for the comic series, described the venture as “a true extension of the television series,” going on to say, “'The Blacklist' comic will take you on a journey deep into the dark world of international espionage, conspiracies, and intrigue on a global scale and explore new dimensions of the characters that have captured the audiences worldwide.”

“The Blacklist” airs Thursdays on NBC.
