The New York Mets and Kansas City Royals are playing phenomenal at the moment. The two squads are a combined 6-1 in their championship series', and are each just one win away from playing in the 2015 World Series.

The Mets have blown the Chicago Cubs out so far. The Mets defeated the Cubs in Game 3 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Jacob deGrom picked up the win in Game 3 on the road yet again. DeGrom was also responsible for beating the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road in Games 1 and 5 of the NLDS against Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke. Daniel Murphy is swinging the bat and hitting home runs at an incredible rate. Murphy has hit six home runs for the Mets this postseason.

Murphy now has the most home runs in postseason history for the Mets eclipsing Mike Piazza.

History is certainly not on the Cubs side. Only the 2004 Boston Red Sox have recovered from a 0-3 series hole, when they came back to defeat the New York Yankees.

Steven Matz will get the start for the Mets in Game 4 and Jason Hammel will be on the mound for the Cubs. The biggest moment in this series was Game 2. The Cubs had their ace on the mound, Jake Arrieta, but he had a terrible day at the office allowing four runs in just five innings. If the Mets can simply win one more game, it would be their first World Series appearance 2000. They last won it all in 1986 against the Red Sox.

The Cubs and Mets will play each other in Game 4 on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. EDT on the TBS Network.

Over in the American League, the Kansas City Royals are dominating the Toronto Blues Jays 3-1 in the American League Championship Series. The Royals were just in the World Series last year, and they want to make it loud and clear that was no fluke season.

Jonny Cueto has had an up and down postseason so far, and the Royals really need him to come through. The Royals dominated the Blue Jays in Game 4 outscoring them 14-2. The Royals will have to play one more game in Canada, and if necessary, two more games will be played in Kansas City. Edinson Volquez will be starting against Marco Estrada in Game 5. The Blue Jays had the No. 1 ranked offense during the regular season, but they've been pretty much shut down during this ALCS.

The Royals and Blue Jays will play each other in Game 5 on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports 1.

If the Mets and Royals do advance to the World Series, it would be the first time ever that we see these two ball clubs face off in the finals. The Royals would be the first team since the Texas Ranger to make it to the World Series in consecutive years.
