A 73-year-old Vietnam veteran in Fresno was attacked for his wallet outside of an AutoZone.

As an ABC affiliate reports, video of the incident in which Victor Bejarano was harassed both outside and inside of the car parts store has been released, but the perpetrator of the crime has not yet been found.

Surveillance video shows the attacker leave an SUV and walk up to Bejarano. The veteran was completely caught off guard, saying, "I never knew there was anything wrong until the girl started coming up towards me and asking me for the wallet."

Video shows Bejarano struggling with the woman. According to Bejarano, the would-be thief counted on the fact that he would not hit a female, explaining, "In the beginning she told me, 'You wouldn't hit a woman,' and I said, 'You're not a woman. I mean, you're attacking me.'"

According to Bejarano all he had in his wallet was a debit card and the whole ordeal could have been avoided if the attacker would have just asked him for money. Bejarano said, "if she told me 'Hey, I have family I've got kids, I would've given her $10."

The attacker is described by the police as about 5'8" and 200 lbs.

As reported by FOX NEWS, Bejarano was getting a part to fix a friend's van.

Last month, also in California, an 83-year-old man was attacked in the city of Santa Ana.

As an ABC affiliate reports the assault, which occurred 6:10 a.m. on a Friday morning, resulted in a man named Tuyen Nguyen being hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage and a broken eye socket.

Cpl. Anthony Bertagna of the Santa Ana Police Department said that the motivation behind the attack was unknown, "But we don't want it to happen to somebody else."
