Wednesday’s chance to make big money playing Powerball is here. The grand prize is currently at $110 million, with a cash value of $69.1 million.

Last Saturday’s winning numbers were 20, 31, 56, 60, 64 and 2. There were 572,042 regular winners, and $4,471,686 in non-jackpot money was won.

There are actually nine ways to play Powerball. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 293 million. The odds of simply doubling your money on a $2 ticket are 1 in 38.

Lottery players may have grand daydreams of winning big and ditching work, but few winners get to win as big, or ditch a job as rough, as Julie Leach of Michigan.

The 50-year-old, who was the sole winner of a recent $310 million Powerball jackpot, was working her night shift at a fiberglass factory when she realized that she never had to work again.

As reported in Plastics News, Leach, who had stepped out for a coffee and decided to buy around $20 worth of Powerball tickets, was having a rough night.

"I was having a real bad night at work, I went to McDonald's for lunch. Thought, 'May as well check my numbers,' and that's when I realized I was a winner," the Powerball winner said.

Leach had been working at the factory for 23 years, and she quit her job right away, calling it a “dirty, nasty job.” There was no way she was going to keep working, she told her boss, not even if he offered her a raise.

In less happy, but equally dramatic Powerball news, Marie Holmes, a young mother of four from North Carolina, has spent over $9 million of her $564 million win bailing her fiancé out of jail.

As quoted in News Max, Holmes expressed gratitude and humility when she won back in February, saying, "I am humbled and grateful for the opportunities this has created for my family."
