Thursday night's Halloween-themed episode of "The Vampire Dairies" will be interesting and intense, as Damon (Ian Somerhalder) tries to get rid of a dead body that eventually comes back to life.

The synopsis for the next episode, entitled "I Carry Your Heart with Me," reads:

"Just as Damon thinks he's gained the upper hand in his fight against Lily (guest star Annie Wersching), an unexpected turn of events leaves him scrambling for a plan B. Elsewhere, when the fallout of Damon's actions gains the unwanted attention of Mary Louise (guest star Teressa Liane) and Nora (guest star Scarlett Byrne), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice King) are forced to spend the night distracting the girls at Whitmore College's Heaven & Hell ball. Finally, after suspecting that she's up to something, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) sets off on a mission to find out what Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore) is hiding, while a plan set by Alaric (Matt Davis) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) leaves their worlds turned upside down."

A trailer for the upcoming episode also reveals that Damon will discover a dead body that he needs to get rid of. However, instead of burying the corpse, Damon brings the body to Bonnie in an attempt to bring it back to life.

The trailer also shows a group of tourists taking a bus trip through a wooded area in Mystic Falls, when they get the scare of their lives as they witness their tour guide being pulled through the windshield by a supernatural creature.

Meanwhile, the gang will get dressed up for Whitmore College's Heaven and Hell-themed costume party. Stefan will attend the dance with Caroline, while Mary Louise and Nora, two of Lily Salvatore's Heretic family members, will go together. According to executive producer Caroline Dries, Mary Louise and Nora will bring as much "death and destruction" as you'd expect when they attend the dance, TVLine reports.

At the same time, Stefan and Caroline must face their challenges. "All he wants to do is grab his girlfriend and make out with her, but it's like kissing a wall of vervain," Dries said of the couple.

Last week's episode included a flashback to Stefan's past relationship with a woman named Valerie (Takara Clark) who was pregnant with his child, notes CarterMatt. However, she lost her unborn baby after a violent altercation caused her to take a dose of blood.

Fans were also treated to a flash forward that included a surprise appearance from Michael Trevino as Tyler Lockwood. In the scene, which took place three years from the present, Stefan called Tyler to warn Caroline about something. It also appeared that Tyler had found success and a good job in New York, since leaving Mystic Falls at the end of Season 6.

Dries teased that fans can expect to see more of Tyler later in the season as well.

"We wanted to remind the audience that Tyler's still very much a part of [the show's] universe ... When you're fortunate enough to leave Mystic Falls -- and not because you died -- we try to exploit and embrace that," she told TVLine. "Tyler got away, so to speak, and just seeing a little glimpse of him in the show told the audience, 'Look, three years from now, the guy's still alive. So there's some hope.'"

Dries added, "Tyler is one of the success stories of Mystic Falls. Him having been able to escape the supernatural politics of the town is what that [appearance] was all about. Also, him letting Stefan know that he'll always be there as an extension of their group."

Although further details have not been disclosed, Dries assured fans that "we will see him again."

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 Episode 5 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
