How would you feel if your wedding rehearsal had a strange couple you did not know watching the entire proceedings? What if that couple was a pair of international superstars?

Reports are now coming in that long-time friends Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson were seen 'crashing' a wedding rehearsal that was taking place in Santa Barbara, Calif. this past Sunday. The two were quietly looking on as the proceedings took place nearby.

"They were just sitting quietly and talking," a relative told People magazine, "and we were on the lawn nearby. We respected their privacy."

Pattinson is just coming off of a messy, on-again-off-again relationship with fellow Twilight star Kristen Stewart. It has been rumored that Perry and Pattinson might soon be a couple, but if that were the case, they did not give much indication of that on Sunday.

"She was wearing a hoodie and big sunglasses. There was no PDA [public display of affection] between them and no body language that showed they were dating. They just sat together and watched. They were not affiliated with the wedding party and were not seen mingling with guests," noted rehearsal guest Stephanie Sands.

Pattinson and Stewart's relationship started to get rocky when Stewart was caught on tape cheating on her beau with director Rupert Sanders. Sanders himself is married and the whole affair turned into an embarrassing scandal for the couple. The two tried to make things work, but were never able to recover from the incident.

"Katy never really supported Rob's decision to get back with Kristen. She always said they wouldn't last. Katy told Rob she didn't think their relationship could withstand the cheating scandal. And he deserved better than someone who would destroy a family [like Rupert's]," a source told Life & Style magazine.

Some now believe that Perry is swooping in to try and win over Pattinson. Perry herself is a victim of heartbreak following several unsuccessful, high-profile relationships including a brief marriage to British comedian and actor Russell Brand.

Many believe that it may have in fact been Pattinson and Perry's friendship that was the ultimate death-knell for the Stewart-Pattinson relationship. She was never fond of Perry and after Pattinson was seen publicly with her at a concert in New York, things quickly deteriorated.
