In the upcoming episode of "The Blacklist," Red (James Spader) hints that after months of being on the run from the FBI, Liz (Megan Boone) might finally catch a break.

A teaser for Episode 8 of Season 3, the season finale, shows Red speaking with a rare optimism.

“We’re very close,” he assures Liz. “This will all be over soon.”

The episode, titled "Kings of the Highway," will follow the duo as they work to finally exonerate Liz, a feat that seems fraught with obstacles. A scene from the teaser shows Red on a payphone desperately asking Liz where she is.

He adds, “They’re coming.”

This season, 32-year-old Boone has been playing a tough and nearly invincible fugitive. As reported in News.com.au, Boone has embraced this darker persona as a way to go deep into areas of moral dilemma.

As a young entertainer coming into her own, Boone has become weary of what she sees as a totally male-dominated industry.

“I have grown to have a palpable intolerance of chauvinism, and it is rampant in this Industry,” she said. Boone is sick of the double standard she encounters on the set of show, talking of how differently she is treated compared to her co-star Spader.

“They all want to work with James and they all want to talk to James,” she explained.

“I’ve had directors actually take my arm and just move me where they want me to go, and I’m like, ‘Go do that to James, see how that works out,’” Boone added. “I am up to here with it, and I am never doing it again.”

"The Blacklist" airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
