Nike will release two retro sneakers this week that are both expected to get a lot of attention on the sneaker market.

First up is the Air Jordan 13 Retro "Doernbecher" edition, which will be released as part of Nike's Doernbecher Freestyle Collection -- the company's joint project with the Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

The Air Jordan 13 Retro "Doernbecher" edition was designed by John Charles, who is suffering from Crohn's disease. According to Nike, this edition features John's soccer numbers and a cartoon kid with a raised eyebrow because John can raise one eyebrow as well, which he considers as one of his special skills.

It also has seven pills, which represent the seven medicines John is taking to manage his health. John's twin brother, Jonah, his German shepherd, Teagan, and an Egyptian pyramid were also featured. John also decided to put the word "Crohn's" on the outsole and the 11-year-old patient gave an interesting explanation.

"When I'm walking, I want to literally stomp out the disease with every step," said John, who also placed the words courage, strength and fight on the sole.

The Air Jordan 13 Retro "Doernbecher" will be released on Saturday with retail price set at $225 for the men's sizes and $180 for the GS sizes. Related items like the Jordan Hat will be sold for $35, while the Nike AW77 Full-Zip Hoodie will be available for $80. More information and photos are available on this link from Nike.

Aside from the special edition of the Air Jordan 13, Jordan Brand will also release the Air Jordan 1 Retro High "The Return" this weekend.

This edition, which is officially listed as the Black/Gym Red-White colorway of the shoe, has a black-based upper part with red hints, including the laces and Nike Air Branding. It also has a black Jordan Wings and gym red Nike Swoosh, and was finished off with a white midsole and red outsole.

According to Nike, this was the model worn by Jordan, when he made his return from a foot injury during the 1985-86 season. The Chicago Bulls superstar would benefit from the support and cushioning of the Air Jordan 2, but he feels more comfortable with the Air Jordan 1.

In turn, the Air Jordan 1 High "The Return" edition was created. It features the upper part of the Air Jordan 1 combined with elements of the Air Jordan 2.

This edition will also arrive at retailers on Saturday and will be available for $150 per pair. More details and photos of this model are available on this link.
