Apparently, according to lead actress Gillian Anderson, the new "X-Files" reboot series will not be featuring its flagship series creature.

In an interview with U.K. publication The Sun, the actress came out in a very candid manner and said aliens would not be on the new show scheduled to air on Fox this January after the NFC Championship game.

Anderson plays the role of agent Dana Scully in the series, and she will be joining co-star David Duchovny as agent Fox Mulder in the upcoming reboot.

She said the series will still be scary, but it will not have its most associated creatures present in it.

"Will there be aliens in it? No, no aliens this year, sorry. It will be scary. I hope it will be good," Anderson said.

"There'll be some laughs and I think overall, even though I haven't seen any of it, I'm most pleased with the fact it feels like what we used to deliver."

But if fans think back to the original series, between the years 1993 and 2002, the show really capitalized on "the shark you cannot see" style of suspense. It was originally about whether or not the government was covering up alien activity on the planet and their mission to find the truth.

The series came out with the tagline "The Truth is out there," and the characters in the show were always busy trying to expose the truth. So when aliens or other monsters did appear on the show, it was far and few between. A lot of their time was spent working the cases. That is until the later seasons during the nine-year series run.

"And that's kind of what the audience and the fans seem to want," Anderson said. "I think we have accomplished that. So hopefully it will be successful."

Fans can tune into Fox on Jan. 16, 2016, to catch the premiere episode for Season 10.
