Superstar singer Adele has surpassed the already lofty expectations placed upon her, with her new album becoming the bestselling release of 2015 after only a few days on the market.

Billboard reports that the British vocalist's third LP, "25," broke the U.S. album sales record in little over three days. Industry experts predict the album will sell 3 million copies in its first week alone.

Adele's "25" was released on Nov. 20 through XL/Columbia Records. By Nov. 23, the album had sold at least 2.433 million copies, surpassing the record set by boy band 'N SYNC's "No Strings Attached," which sold 2.416 million in the week of its release in 2000.

The album has already eclipsed Taylor Swift's massively popular "1989," which was previously set to be the bestselling release of both 2014 and 2015.

According to Forbes, Swift's October LP sold three and a half million units in the first few months, and has since remained on Billboard's top ten, selling 1.5 million copies this year.

Adele on the other hand, has achieved something near unthinkable in the modern era of music streaming and piracy, breaking 'N SYNC's record set at a time when those alternatives were not an option.

Part of the album's success is likely due to the decision to withhold it from popular streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music. It's a positive for Columbia, and its parent company Sony, who stand to profit more from direct album sales.

Although the fourth quarter is a popular time for artist's to drop major releases, it's unlikely that anyone will be able to catch the record set by Adele this year, particularly as other artists have altered their schedules to account for the predicted blockbuster album.

Nielsen is scheduled to release the full report of Adele's debut sales on Sunday, Nov. 29.
