With a cop drama like "Blue Bloods" that takes place in New York City, there is bound to be a mob hit this season at some point. That is the case with the next episode, but not all is what it seems.

Episode 12 is titled "Cursed" and will air on broadcast network CBS this Friday, Jan. 15 at 10 p.m. EST, according to TV Guide.

Now that the show has delved deep into the NYC politics and national issues, the force is put to the task for the age-old crime story that the city is so infamous for.

According to Spoilers Guide, the next episode will feature the aftermath of a mob hit. The victim was in his car when an assailant killed him, and the city is poised to be ground zero for another mob war that will likely have residual casualties associated with it.

The NYPD does its best to keep the peace but when situations like these erupt, the fire spreads so rapidly that it spirals out of control. So the real meat of the episode is not just solving the crime but finding out the truth quickly so that the mob war does not erupt.

To make matters worse, Danny and Baez find a low level errand boy tied up in the trunk of the victim's car. But the boy is not much help because they cannot get any information out of him. So the clock is ticking and with little to no leads to go on, they must wedge their way into mob business to work the case.

There is also another story in the episode where a young female cop asks Frank for new badge number so she can honor her father. But he is conflicted with it because it is the same number as his dead son, Joe.
