Game developer Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment (DICE) might be pretty silent about the inner workings of the new installment of the Battlefield saga, but the company seems to be dropping a couple of very important clues here and there.

As reported by Gaming Bolt, DICE has just announced a job opening on its official website. What is particularly interesting with regards to the posting is that DICE is looking for a new Senior Technical Animator, and among the responsibilities in the job description stated that the animator must be able to "drive innovation and application of new animation technology."

Exactly how the alleged new animation technology would be utilized in the upcoming game is pretty much open for speculation, but from what could be inferred in the job description, DICE's Senior Technical Animator would probably be working on a type of animation that might revolutionize the way first person shooters are presented and played.

Another important clue in the job posting is the statement which said that the Senior Technical Animator would be working on an "unannounced AAA title." Such statement has led fans to speculate that the new animator would be working on the several key features that would be made available in the company's flagship shooter, Battlefield.

Specifics on the upcoming game are very scarce as of the moment, though EA has, during the announcement of its latest financial report, stated that the net Battlefield title would be released "in time for the holidays," reported The International Business Times.

"An all-new Battlefield game from DICE will arrive in time for the holidays, we're excited to have a new Titanfall experience coming from our friends at Respawn -- and of course, Mass Effect: Andromeda from the team at BioWare will launch later in the fiscal year," EA's statement said.

With a release date that is about 10 to 11 months from now, the Senior Technical Animator that DICE is looking for would surely have his or her hands full, especially since the series, famous for its playability and unique first-person experience, is rumored to be set for a multi-platform release.

That means that the next Battlefield title might be released for the PC, the PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One. With the PC and the PS4 in the mix, speculations are abounding that the title might, if gamers are really lucky, have some form of VR support.

If that is indeed the case, Battlefield 5 might end up to be the first-person shooter that is destined to rule them all.
