Hillary Clinton has opened up a commanding 13-point lead over Bernie Sanders in the California Democratic primary with just a week remaining before polls open.

Gov. Jerry Brown Pens Open Letter Endorsing Hillary Clinton

The Clinton campaign could be in store for yet another boost coming ion the strength of an endorsement from Democratic California Gov. Jerry Brown, who recently penned a letter attesting to his plan to cast his vote for the overall party front-runner and former first lady.

"I have decided to cast my vote for Hillary Clinton because I believe this is the only path forward to win the presidency and stop the dangerous candidacy of Donald Trump," Brown wrote.

Brown later touched on Trump's pledge to deport millions of immigrants if he is elected, not to mention build a wall along the Mexican border to further keep immigrants out.

"The stakes couldn't be higher," he added. "This is no time for Democrats to keep fighting each other."

Golden State pollsters found Clinton leading Trump in a general election match-up 45 percent to 33 percent.

Meanwhile, a recent Public Policy Polling survey found Clinton leading Sanders by as much as nine points among Latino voters across the state.

Latinos Estimated to Represent 20 Percent of Latino Vote in California

Pollsters estimate that Latinos could account for as much as 20 percent of the state's overall vote and a win in the country's most diverse state would all but officially seal her status as the Democratic nominee.

Besides Brown, a number of other well-known Latino politicians have also endorsed Clinton, among them former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Secretary of State Alex Padilla and U.S. Rep. Xavier Becerra, D-Calif., who heads the House Democratic Caucus.
