Mexico and Jamaica face off in the Copa America Group C on Thursday.

Mexico the class of the tournament so far

Mexico is essentially one win away from the knockout rounds after putting up a dominant 3-1 win over Uruguay in the group opener. Mexico dominated the first half of the game with a relentless possession game that stifled any attempts at an Uruguayan counter attack.

The second half offered up some tricky situations for Mexico and even after conceding the lead the team managed to continue creating one chance after another until it managed two more goals to close out the win in style. The passing throughout was free-flowing and the attack was precise and pointed.

Rafa Marquez played the hero on the night and his steadiness in the midfield was crucial to the team's overall attacking game.

This Mexican side certainly had a strong feeling to it during that opening win, perhaps it could be seen as the performance of the tournament thus far.

Jamaica had anything but a great performance in the group opener against Venezuela. Gifted with its best chance at a solid start, the team imploded early and never managed to really get back into the game thereafter.

Player to watch

Chicharito was not the man of the match on Sunday but he played a big part in the win as his dummy run into the box led to the opening goal. He was solid throughout, creating numerous opportunities for his country and he looks as thirsty as ever to score.

History favors Mexico

The Mexicans have dominated Jamaica since 1962, winning 18 of 23 matchups thus far. Jamaica's four wins have come sporadically with the most recent one a 1-0 win at home in the World Cup qualifiers in 2008. However, Mexico has won eight of the last nine contest against Jamaica and nine of the last 11 dating back to 1996 when Jamaica managed another 1-0 win in a qualifying game.

Prediction

Mexico continues its hot start and pulls out a 3-0 win. Expect Chicharito to also contribute on the scoresheet this time around.
