The Simpsons is becoming one of the longest-running scripted TV show of all time as it has just been renewed for a season 29th and 30th which is an unprecedented feat. This is one of the TV shows history have ever witness with roughly around 7.2 million viewers per episode.

According to Yahoo reports, the 30th season of the animated sitcom will have about 669 episodes along with the double renewal. It broke the record for the most episodes of any scripted show among live-action and animated series. The record was previously held by Gunsmoke, the western drama that aired from 1955 to 1975, with 635 episodes.
