If you cannot wait any longer for the full and final version of Android 7.0 Nougat update that OnePlus promised to bring to OnePlus 3, you might want to get the early version of the update.

OnePlus rolled out the first beta build of its Nougat-based Oxygen OS for the OnePlus 3 yesterdau. True to its promise a few weeks ago about the Android Nougat update, the Chinese company announced the release of the Open Beta on its forum site.

Tony L., a staff member of OnePlus shared the news: "By sending in your feedback, bug reports, and general thought, you've made Oxygen OS even better, and we're making improvements faster than ever before. Today, we have a particularly exciting announcement: Open Beta 8 - built on Android Nougat - is available now for the OnePlus 3."

Aside from the key updates of Android 7.0 Nougat to the device that includes new notifications design, settings menu design, multi-window view, notification direct reply, and custom DPI support, OnePlus also added status bar icon options, quick launch for third party applications, and improved shelf customization. As per XDA Developers, there are also changes in the UI design, which will be evaluated upon a further experience of the update.

Considering, however, that it is an unfinished version, the update to OnePlus 3 is not free from vulnerabilities and performance issues. Brave souls can update their devices through a source link provided in the forum.

OnePlus reminded consumers that this beta build will not be as stable as their future OTA releases. Some problems that OnePlus 3 users might experience in updating to Android 7.0 Nougat include stability issues, incompatibility with TWRP, and Android Pay may not also work correctly. Likewise, updating to the beta version disabled users to downgrade back to the previous OS build.

The tech company further noted that there are potential risks in this update, considering that this is a new version of Android. The full version of the OS update for OnePlus 3 is expected to be released in December. Stay tuned for more updates!
