The New Orleans Pelicans have dealt with many injuries this NBA season, they have also had bad performances and that leaves Omer Asik on the trading block.

Omer has not been able to give his best this season and that might be the exact reason why the Pelicans have made him available.

This is not the first time Omer has been on the NBA trade rumors, but this time it is believed to be true and the rim protecting big man is on for a trade reported the Bird Writes. The NBA star had a good force with Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls; it appears that he did not have the same with the Pelicans.

The Pelicans were near the bottom of the Western Conference in the 2015 to 2016 season; probably dealing with too many injuries has put their performance down. Omer himself entered the season with a calf injury and he had no choice but to take out sometime, although he returned to the court his performance has not been up to the mark as expected.

Headlines and Global News reported that the New Orleans Pelicans are at the middle of many trade rumors, but Omer being up on the trading block is likely to be true. On the other hand Ryan Anderson seems to be the next target as the Pelicans are looking forward for a good deal to trade the star.

Looking at Omer's value it is comparatively low at the moment, and the Pelicans might be trying to get rid of the contract. Omer is also a good rebounder, for his career he holds 13.3 rebounds per 36 minutes.

Omer was signed with a $58 million deal and there seems to be no other team that is willing to offer the same or more for the bad luck he his having. The 29 year old NBA star seems to be on the trade for the moment but nothing is known where Omer will fit in next.
