By now it's no more a secret that there might be an OLED iPhone 8 version, which is rumored to be an edge to edge display, which means that there will be a minimal amount of bezel on all sides of the phone, as per the trend the edges will be curved toward the back for a waterfall look.

According to a report in Phonearena the OLED version of the new iPhone 8  will be curved as Apple ordered all plastic OLED not the glass one from Samsung display. And Samsung is only capable of supplying around 100 million units or curved OLED displays to Apple.

The reference to plastic OLED here means that teh panels that Apple has ordered are made with plastic, instead of a glass substrate, so that they can bend it. It's not sure whether all side curve will be possible or not because the fact is that all flexible displays of Samsung, since Galaxy Round are made up of plastic, but so far they've only managed to curved to one or two side not on phones like S7, not all around.

However the Galaxy S8 is rumored to feature a similar all-screen concept al the front, with a curved top and bottom, and no physical home button, so the iPhone 8 might be rocking the market in a similar fashion. Apple's added value, the source continues, won't be a foldable phone or any other overzealous flexible display shenanigans, but the team is apparently trying to develop new touch options for the sides.

As per TechTimes the upcoming iPhone may use new sensing technology, which features the phone to respond when users touch any side of the phone, but Apple may not adopt the technology says sources.

The gang from Cupertino are still experimenting what they can practically be achieve with a curved OLED display, other than the typical design what Samsung does till now. Apple has a few more month for testing and decision making, as an OLED iPhone 8 would be a pretty complicated experiment to produce in mass quantities.

The suppliers needs to start the process as early as the spring if they want to be ready with a finished product till summer, in order to get it unveiled. So fans need to sit back and wait whether OLED iPhone 8 May Sport Curves On All Sides or not.
