Snapchat has recently started a countdown on its official website in order to commence the arrival of its new innovation, "Spectacles" the video recording sunglasses.

According to Digital Trends,  the Snapchat countdown feature can be accessed by selecting the "find a bot" link on the Spectacles website. A timer on a bright yellow background will show up, and its video-recording sunglasses will bethe next that is available to purchase via the Snapbot vending machine. This time, however, the countdown does not include a Snapbot image.

The speculations about "Spectacles" from Snapchat have divided people into two sections. One section claimed that Snapchat will be opening more stores and start selling sunglasses online, aside from releasing an update or new versions. People from the other section claims a new Snapbot location is going to be revealed by Snapchat.

The real plan of Snapchat regarding its "Spectacles", though, is yet to be contemplated as its New York City store was shut down on February 19th. Snap Inc. has also revealed that it has been pouring into inventory, marketing and distribution for the sunglasses and focusing on product innovation, though a major "upgrade" is highly unlikely.

Business Insider reports that Snapchat "Spectacles" are comparatively better looking than the head mounted google glasses. The normal looking "Spectacles" have yellow circles near the lens. These light up when the record button on the top of the frames are hit and record videos for 10 seconds of whatever the user sees.

"Spectacles" can be a used as an alternative to a DSLR camera to record videos, though the image quality differs quite a lot. The downside of the "Spectacles" are the poor resolution quality and that the videos cannot be seen right after capturing them.

Snapchat has not revealed whether it is going to sell "Spectacles" through any other channels aside from Snapbot. There is no official communication about the matter from Snap Inc.

Snapchat "Spectacles" are available for $130.00
