There is even more great news from the famous Chinese telco company following the unveiling of their newest flagship model, Huawei P10, and P10 plus at the MWC 2017. As Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd continues to provide timely updates on their smartphones, Huawei's P9 and P9 plus will finally have an over-the-air or OTA update providing the latest Android Nougat 7.0. With this update, users of P9 and P9 plus can enjoy almost the same perks of newly introduced smartphones like multi-window and night light.

The newest flagship model of Huawei, the P10 and P10 plus has a running OS of EMUI 5.1, with the onset of this new update P9 and P9 plus will be on EMUI 5.0. According to reports from Normangee Star, Huawei will be updating the P9 models worldwide and targets to achieve full system update before this month ends. However, the firmware version may have some differences compared to the latest EMUI 5.1 of P10 models, nevertheless, it will still have the Nougat features.

Huawei has already started the roll out and the first P9 to have the update was reported to have happened last December 2016. GSM Arena has reported the version to be as VIE-L09C432B360 and will occupy 2.4 GB of memory. The update can be automatically available on a scheduled update or it can be induced by going through the Settings menu.

Android Nougat 7.0 may still have some glitches at hand and it is advised to opt back to Android 6.0 Marshmallow with an EMUI of 4.1 if it became unmanageable. To recall, P9 was the first smartphone from Huawei to have the Leica dual lens camera from April of last year. Initially, has an EMUI 4.1 Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Android Nougat 7.0 update will be its biggest update ever.
