Although, the game will make its entry in the Western region sometime in 2018, as stated by the official source. The title is also expected to make its worldwide entry in the next year only.

According to Destructoid, Bandai Namco, the publisher of the title, has further stated that "Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory" is basically a follow-up of the events of the original Digimon Story. As per a report by Kotaku, the main protagonist of "Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory," Keisuke Amazawa has been accused of a serious crime which he hasn't even been involved. Well-known gaming analysts and experts suggest that the story of the game has been designed keeping in mind the contemporary state of the world and the superlative universal threats. In his quest to prove his own innocence, Amazawa enters the digital cyber world. In order to clear his name, he joins a group of hackers and tries to find out ways to tackle the issue in a strange and unknown dimension. In his journey, he also befriends with a number of Digimons to defend all his illusions.
