Cher Reveals a Fan Tried To Kill Her Before a Broadway Performance in 1982
Cher revealed that a fan tried to kill her nearly four decades ago while performing in a New York play in 1982.
Talking to The Guardian, Cher said this scary fan encounter happened as she entered the theater she was about to perform in.
Initially, she thought the man was simply going to shake her hand, but he grabbed her arm and put it behind her back.
"He started pushing me down the alleyway, and he said: 'If you make a sound, I'll kill you,'" narrated the goddess of pop.
She presumed the man was a fan waiting at the stage door and didn't pay it much worry at the time.
"I always got dropped off at the stage door when I was doing Come Back To the Five and Dime(Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean) on Broadway," as she talked about her first significant stage role as the waitress named Sissy.

Fortunately, two fans saw her and felt there was something off. The two fans ran towards her and scream, making the deranged man run away.
She revealed that these two fans later became her friends, reported The Independent.
Cher Dislikes Going Out After Crazy Fan Encounter
During the interview, Cher also said she doesn't like going out now because "everybody's got a camera."
She said there was an uncomfortable feeling for her when people rush to her because "you don't know if they're going to kill you or take your picture."
Cher, 74, was asked how aging was treating her, and she frankly said: "I hate it," adding that most women would probably concur.
"Any woman who is honest will say it's not as much fun," she said.
She noted that her nights had been changed as time went on. Before, she used to work on the road for two shows a night, and she'd still manage to squeeze in some dancing for the night.
But now, she has to rest right away because there will be another show the following night.

When asked if cosmetic surgery helped in prolonging her career, she said talent still matters. She noted that if someone is "not good" at what they do, people will not care how they look like.
"I've worked my whole life to keep my strength in my body," Cher said, adding that there would be some young women out there who probably can't do what she does.
Cher Campaigns to Rescue Animals
Cher has been in the news recently for spearheading a campaign to rescue the "world's loneliest elephant," Kaavan, from a Pakistani zoo, reported Page Six.
Kaavan has been living alone in the zoo for years, and Cher sought to have the animal find a new home where he can roam and befriend other elephants. But that's not the only animal Cher looks forward to helping. She is also setting her sights on a gorilla.
According to People, Cher wants to help the female gorilla named Bua Noi in Thailand. Bua Noi was brought to the Pata Zoo in 1988 and had not left the facility since.
