WBO junior middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade successfully defended his title after scoring a seventh-round knockout win over Brian Rose on Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

And after successfully defending his title and protecting his unblemished 21-0 record with 14 knockouts, Andrade and his promoter declared that he is now ready for big fights -- possibly against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Miguel Cotto, Saul Alvarez, or Gennady Golovkin.

"We're ready to go," Joe DeGuardia, Andrade's promoter, told RingTV. "As Demetrius has said, we're looking for the biggest and the best fights out there. 'Canelo,' Cotto, Mayweather, you name them. We're looking for the best fighters out there because we think that we've got the best fighter in the world."

And if he eventually gets a chance to face Mayweather, Andrade confidently said that he has what it takes to hand the reigning pound-for-pound king the first defeat of his boxing career.

"I believe that I can beat Floyd Mayweather," Andrade said. "There's nobody out there who has a jab like me. There's nobody out there who is as fast as me and who is going to slip and slide and look as good against Floyd Mayweather."

The 26-year-old champion also added that Mayweather has not fought a fighter who has the same style as his. Andrade claims that his speed and footwork inside the ring would give Mayweather a lot of problems.

However, Andrade will have to exert more effort to campaign for the possible big-money bout because Mayweather is considering several opponents, who could draw more audience than Andrade.

Sources indicated that Mayweather's camp is considering several crowd-drawers like reigning WBC and WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia, former champion Amir Khan, and Marcos Maidana, who gave the Grand Rapids native arguably the toughest fight of his career.

Maidana took the fight into Mayweather during their action-packed showdown in May before the 30-year-old Argentine took a majority decision loss.

Maidana's camp has been campaigning for a rematch, insisting that "El Chino" deserves another shot at Mayweather after his impressive performance during their first bout.

"What we expect, what 'Chino' Maidana is expecting, is that Mayweather rematch -- because we believe that is something that is easily deserved. The truth is, Maidana is the boxer who has given Floyd one of the most competitive fights in his career and also in the last couple years," Sebastian Cortusi, Maidana's adviser said.
