M. Night Shyamalan is known as a Philadelphia 76ers fan and is often at the courtside during their game.

Born in India, the famous director who grew up in Philadelphia invites his favorite Philadelphia 76ers player James Harden and coach Doc Rivers to promote his new movie.

Many NBA players have interests outside the game that help them relax during the long season. Some people try their hand at podcasting, some at making music, and others at acting as a means of personal development.

Recently, Harden and Rivers turned to acting as a means of relieving pressure from their respective roles as leaders of the team, according to Sixers Wire.

Shyamalan invited Harden and Rivers to appear in an exclusive trailer for his upcoming horror film, "Knock at the Cabin."

Why Did M. Night Shyamalan Invited James Harden and Coach Doc Rivers to Do the Horror Movie Trailer?

In the movie trailer, M. Night Shyamalan and James Harden are seen playing chess in the same cabin in the film until they are suddenly startled by a mysterious knock.

Doc Rivers dropped by, telling Harden to get back to practice.

Shyamalan, whose works include "The Sixth Sense," "Unbreakable," and "Signs," grew up in the Philadelphia area and stayed there despite his enormous success as a director.

Shyamalan has been a well-known Philadelphia 76ers fan in recent years. As a result, he frequently attends games as a season ticket holder, where he is commonly spotted sitting courtside.

Screen Rant reported that he also had the honor of striking the team's liberty bell at the Wells Fargo Center before games.

Aside from being an avid basketball fan, Shyamalan is also well-known for setting and filming several of his films within the Philadelphia area, including his upcoming feature film, "Knock at the Cabin," which the production started shooting last April.

However, it is unclear why Shyamalan decided to market "Knock at the Cabin" in this fashion, but the commercial is hilarious, nevertheless.

Night Shyamalan's 'Knock at the Cabin'

The home invasion horror film "Knock at the Cabin" takes place during the apocalypse. It is based on Paul Tremblay's novel "The Cabin at the End of the World."

In the book, Wen, a seven-year-old girl, goes on vacation with her parents, Eric and Andrew, in a lonely cabin.

Four strangers - Leonard, Redmond, Adriane, and Sabrina - arrive at the cabin and drive the family into a tragic confrontation.

However, Tremblay has previously informed fans that the film will not be an exact adaptation of the novel. Anyone familiar with M. Night Shyamalan's unconventional storytelling in films should anticipate a few unexpected plot twists.

Dave Bautista plays Leonard in the film, Nikki Amuka-Bird as Adriane, Rupert Grint as Redmond, and Abby Quinn as Sabrina.

Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge will play Andrew and Eric, respectively. Kristen Cui will play the role of Wen. Amuka-Bird and Grint have worked with Shyamalan before. Grint was previously on "Old."

Grint is also a key character in the TV series "Servant," which Shyamalan also produces. In "Knock at the Cabin," Grint will play a leading part for the first time in eight years.

The new M. Night Shyamalan movie comes out on February 3, but do not expect to see James Harden and Doc Rivers at the film itself.
