Lionel Messi is getting much praise for going into father mode and consoling a crying child before an Inter Miami match. That child also happens to be the son of rapper DJ Khaled.

This happened during Messi's first time starting for Inter Miami as the team took on Atlanta United. He was lining up before the match began with DJ Khaled's son being the one to accompany him. However, the boy was overcome with emotion and started crying as the two teams were waiting for the pre-match handshake.

The Argentinian legend, however, channeled his fatherly instincts and consoled the boy, Asahd, who was the one who accompanied Messi into the pitch, as is tradition in soccer. According to The Mirror, he may have been taken aback by the intensity of the environment at the DRV PNK Stadium in Miami, which was sold that night with a 27,000-capacity crowd watching Messi start for the team for the first time.

Asahd is only six and the boy was seen waving to his family, including his hip-hop megastar dad DJ Khaled, as the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner held his shoulder to console him. The boy then seemed to be at ease after getting consoled by the Argentinian.

As for Asahd's dad, the rapper was seen proudly filming the entire team, even before his son started to cry. The six-year-old was one of the many children who accompanied the soccer players for both sides as mascots.

Lionel Messi Dominant as Inter Miami Cruises Past Atlanta United

As for the match itself, Lionel Messi proved that he was worth every single cent that Inter Miami is paying him as he scored twice in just 22 minutes during his debut match as a starter for his new squad.

According to Yahoo! Sports, "La Pulga" scored his first goal during the eighth minute of the match to open the scoring at 1-0. He followed it up with his second goal in the 21st minute after a perfect pass from Robert Taylor. These were his second and third goals for Inter Miami respectively, having scored his first goal against Mexican side Cruz Azul last week.

Meanwhile, Robert Taylor scored the next two goals for the Florida squad, putting them up 4-0 against Atlanta United. This led to the boys in pink winning the match with a clean sheet.
