It might be worth the wait if you are in the market for a new laptop: The Acer Chromebook 13 promises to have an extended battery life and better graphics (gaming quality). There have been several teasers released a few days ago, according to Time.

However, the exact release date is not yet known, but in all probability it will be around September. There is already a pre-order available from Acer as well as Amazon. It's got plenty of juice with 13 hours of battery life on a single charge and robust specs, which will give its competition a run for their money.

A Tegra K1 4-Plus-1 quad-care ARM Cortex A15 processor provides the Acer Chromebook 13 with power, which according to SlashGear outperforms Samsung and Intel processors. Early reports also suggest it has three times more graphics performance than Samsung or the Bay Trail chip and it's got quad-core architecture as well.

The new device has two display configurations: Full HD 1920 x 1080 display and a 1366 x 768 display. The lower end model, Acer Chromebook 13 CB5-311-T7NN, has a 16 GB SSD and 2 GB of RAM. Selling price is $279. This is the model with a 13-hour battery life.

The new Acer Chromebook 13 will sport a new body with a matte finish plastic casing that looks quite strong. It has a spacious trackpad and a full sized keyboard. It is fanless, thanks to Nvidia's mobile chip.

It weighs 3.31 pounds and measures 0.71 inches in thickness. It has an HDMI output, a headphone jack, an SD card reader, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and two USB 3.0 ports. It also comes with a microphone, stereo speakers and a 720p webcam.
