9/11 is a day that will never be forgotten by the U.S. or of the entire world. And to commemorate the events of that fateful day, there are a few who tried to pull off some not-so-appropriate acts. For instance, a pastor tried to burn Qurans.

A pastor from the town of Mulberry, Florida got arrested Wednesday. Pastor Terry Jones planned to burn 2,998 Qurans in a park - his way of commemorating the 12th anniversary of 9/11. Jones wanted to burn one Quran for every victim of 9/11, according to a report by USA Today.

However, he and associate pastor, Marvin Sapp, were intercepted by the Sheriff's deputies. The pickup truck he drove was filled with kerosene-soaked Qurans. They were both given a felony charge of unlawful conveyance of fuel. Jones was also charged with unlawful carrying of fire arms, while Sapp did not have a valid registration for the vehicle.

Jones, the pastor of a small evangelical Christian church, first got noticed by the media in 2010 for the same reason. Yes, he first planned to burn Islam's Holy Book that year but then decided later on not to push through with it.

However, in the next year, 2011, he and his congregation managed to pull the act. And the pastor did not seem to have been satisfied with burning Qurans. Last year, he also promoted an anti-Muslim film.

Meanwhile, a news report from 10 News, showed a protest against Pastor Terry Jones. Residents of Mulberry gathered together, and along with "Unity Day USA," planted pinwheels of peace.

"We don't buy what Jones is selling," said Butch Rahman, a Polk County resident. "Everyone has a right to believe what they believe," stated Mike Ghouse, organizer of "Unity Day USA."

The anti-Jones rally centered on an interfaith prayer service. With one candle lighting all the others, the prayer for peace was uttered by Christians, Muslims, Atheists, Baptists and others.
