Forget Peyton Manning's age and forget that he recently had serious neck surgery. He's tearing apart NFL defenses across the league in a record-setting start to the year.

The Denver Broncos were already on fire entering yesterday's Monday Night showdown against division rival Oakland Raiders, but they weren't about to slow down at Mile High. Manning tossed three more touchdowns in Week 3 to send his touchdown total to a record-breaking 12 on the season as the Broncos won easily, 37-21.

The Raiders had high hopes heading into the game, even if there were no high expectations. Oakland has a revamped defense as the team goes through the motions of rebuilding - again - but they have played well with what they have. Manning, of course, was just too much for them to handle.

Denver jumped out to a 30-7 lead at the half and the rest was smooth sailing, even as the Raiders tacked on a few scores to make it look close. According to The USA Today this morning, the Broncos were so comfortable with their lead that there was one situation when the team's running backs apparently played the "Rock, Paper, Scissors" game to determine who would get to run in a one-yard touchdown score on a reviewed play.

"As the officials deliberated if Hillman had crossed the goal line after a 13-yard gain, Hillman, Moreno and Ball decided to play rock-paper-scissors for which running back would get the goal line carry if the score was overturned. Hillman said Moreno threw down a rock one beat too early and was disqualified, and Hillman's scissors trumped Ball's paper. So on the next play, it was Hillman's touchdown."

The Broncos will now head to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles in their second NFC East game in the last two weeks. The Broncos will then continue their tour of the NFC East with a matchup against the Cowboys.

The Raiders will face the 0-3 Redskins this week.
