The hilarious comedic duo of Comedy Central's "K & P: Key and Peele" are going to make their first film together.

Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele of "Key and Peele" have done other film and TV projects separately, so this venture and others to come will be their movie collaboration.

Key and Peele will be writing and producing a film about a kidnapped cat. The comedic pair are not just comedians and writers on their hit TV show -- "K & P: Key and Peele" -- but they are also working actors that have appeared in other TV shows and films.

The film is titled "Keanu," and it has nothing to do with Keanu Reeves. The joint film project with New Line Cinema is about a kidnapped cat. The pair have to infiltrate a gang in order to rescue the kidnapped feline, Deadline reported.

"The movie should resonate with a large audience as almost everyone has had a house pet stolen by a street gang, right?" Peele said.

"Keanu" is set to start production next year April. They will film in Los Angeles, Deadline reported.

"None of our 'Key & Peele' characters will be harmed in the making of this film," Jordan said.

"Keanu" might not have been seen in all U.S. movie theaters. The film project was originally slated to be an independent movie. The New Line President of Production Richard Brener stated that they were happy to have them doing it with the studio, Deadline reported.

"Everything they do is funny," Brener said.

"Keanu" will be a "MadTV" and "Key and Peele" partnership. Key and Peele have worked together since Fox's "MadTV" days, and their new show on Comedy Central has had a strong and consistent viral following. Peele wrote the script for their movie with Alex Rubens, a writer on the "Key and Peele" show, as well as "Community," Deadline reported.

The studio is in talks to have Peter Atencio as the director for this film project. Atencio has helmed every episode of "Key and Peele." The comedic duo will be producing, along with producers from their show, Deadline reported.

Key and Peele are winning. Their show has won a Peabody award -- a distinguished achievement for excellence. And the show has been nominated for five Emmys. The show started in 2012 and it is now in its fourth season, The Hollywood Reporter noted.

They are also working actors. Key and Peele have appeared in four episodes of the Emmy-winning TV series "Fargo." Key appeared in the film "Let's Be Cops," and "The Lego Movie," The Hollywood Reporter confirmed. Peele is scheduled to appear in the upcoming "Horrible Bosses 2" and "Tomorrowland." And, Peele has appeared in "Wanderlust" and "Little Fockers."

Key and Peele's other upcoming collaborative film projects include a "Police Academy" reboot movie, and a film project with Judd Apatow, as well as a spinoff of their character Mr. Garvey, the "Substitute Teacher" that appears on their show, Deadline reported.
